La Confraternita di Misericordia di Buriano fu fondata il 21 febbraio 1991 da un gruppo di persone che recepirono e fecero proprie le esigenze di "sicurezza sanitaria" espresse dalla popolazione della frazione.
La Confraternita, agisce nell'ambito della normativa della Confederazione Nazionale delle Misericordie d'Italia ed offre a Punta Ala:

The Confraternita di Misericordia of Buriano was founded the 21st February 1991 by a group of people that realised there was a need for an emergency health service for the local population. The confraternity, works under the rules and regulations of the "Confederazione Nazionale of the Misericordie d'Italia" and offers at Punta Ala the following services:
- SERVICE AVAILABLE 24 OUT OF 24 OF 24 HOURS A DAY
- EMERGENCY SERVICE 118
- ASSISTANCE AT SPORTING EVENTS
- TRANSPORT ASSISTED BY A DOCTOR
- TRANSPORT FOR ONCOLOGY / DIALYSIS TREATMENTS
- TRANSPORT OF INFIRM PATIENTS
- GENERAL SOCIAL SERVICES

La Confraternita ha sempre dato grande importanza alla dotazione, alla qualità e all'efficienza del materiale operativo, quale: 4 ambulanze di cui 3 cardio-mobili, 3 mezzi attrezzati, 1 auto.

The confraternity has always given much importance to the equipment, to the quality and efficiency of  the operative machinery, which consists of 4 ambulances, 2 of which are equipped with machines for heart patients. 3 vehicles medically equipped and 1 car.

Anche quest'anno la Misericordia di Buriano organizza a Punta Ala il Corso di Addestramento per Volontari Soccorritori di 1° e 2° livello. Pertanto sono aperte le iscrizioni presso la Sede Operativa di P.le Antares - Loc. Il Gualdo - Punta Ala, oppure contattanto il centralino al n. 0564 939099.

La Sezione di Punta Ala della Confraternita è operativa dal 2 novembre 2001, data di attivazione del servizio di emergenza locale. Inizialmente limitato ai fine settimana e ai giorni festivi, dalla mancanza di spazi idonei per l'alloggio degli equipaggi, dal 30 marzo 2002, grazie alla ASL 9 di Grosseto che ha messo a disposizione parte degli spazi di sua proprietà e all'opera del Gruppo Volontari di Punta Ala,  il servizio di emergenza sanitaria, coordinato dal 118, è attivo 24 ore su 24. The Punta Ala branch of confraternity has been working since the 2nd November 2001, the date the local branch was opened. In the beginning the local branch at Punta Ala was open only at the weekends and holidays, because of the lack  of space for the equipment. As from the 30th March 2002, thank you to the ASL 9 of Grosseto who gave permission to use a large part of their property and to the work of the a group of volunteers from Punta Ala, the emergency service, coordinated by the 118, is working around the clock 24 hours a day. PLEASE contribute to our work by making an offer or by becomming a member of our association.

Grazie alle proprie sedi di Castiglione della Pescaia e Punta Ala e all'unità mobile presso l'ospedale di Grosseto, la Confraternita è in grado di adempiere in tempi brevi alle chiamate di pronto intervento del 118, è attiva nell'assistenza sociale e svolge correntemente incarichi per privati: ad esempio, l'assistenza al Team Prada, quando questo è presente nella base di Punta Ala.

Thanks to the branches of Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Ala and to the emergency movable unit care of the Grosseto Hospital, the confraternity is able to answer almost immediately to emergency calls from the 118 and to
supply social services and help to private companies such as, for example, the Prada Team, when they are present at their base in Punta Ala.
