    in Tuscany

One thing that has always divided people is the preference between sandy beaches and rocky beaches.

The white beach in Tuscany is a favorite among those who seek the pleasure of soft sand, where children can play safely and where the water gradually rises to bathe in comfort.

However, Tuscany also reserves many stretches of coastline with rocks, where you can explore the seabed, fish and fantastic underwater landscapes.

Even the islands of the Tuscan archipelago offer both solutions, but the beach is present only in a few sections for the docking of boats.

In any case it is not necessary to look for tropical beaches or face hours of flight to find long beaches with transparent sea. The white beaches of Tuscany have nothing to envy to more famous places that are far away and difficult to reach.

In the area of Punta Ala it is possible to find great beaches both to the north, towards Follonica, where there is Cala Barbiere, and to the south towards Castiglione della Pescaia.

In Cala Barbiere, where the famous film by Ugo Tognazzi “L’anatra all’arancia” (Duck in Orange Sauce) was shot, there are many bars, restaurants and bathing establishments near the village. Continuing a few hundred meters you can also find free beach.

The entire coastline is bordered by the beautiful Mediterranean pine forest that provides valuable shelter from the summer heat, and can be reached from many access points from the provincial road of Punta Ala.

The south side of Punta Ala is more rocky and, except for the Rocchette beach, to find white beaches you have to go as far as Castiglione della Pescaia.

On the white beaches of Tuscany you can practice all the most popular water sports, all types of surfing, with and without sail, up to diving to explore the beautiful seabeds.

The beaches in Tuscany are among the favorite destinations for families because they offer children the fun of the sea in complete safety, and parents can take advantage of all the services offered by the many clubs and establishments on the coast.

The natural beauty of the area is spread over seven kilometers of free beach where even in August you can find plenty of space. The sand is golden and slopes gently towards the sea.

It is a stretch of coastline that deserves to be visited and experienced for the comfort and beauty that the white beach of Punta Ala offers.
